Peony Sweet Sixteen

Just as its name implies, this is one honey of a peony. Sweet Sixteen boasts a strong, upright habit and is absolutely covered in luxuriant, ball-shaped blooms of pale pink that are encircled by one or two rows of pink petals, for good measure. Though the flowers are substantial, the extra petals give them a light, airy effect. This is a midseason bloomer that is great for cutting, providing armloads of fragrant bouquets from April to May. Deep green, glossy foliage makes a lush backdrop to the lightly hued blooms.
